Hello Catwalk Kitty
The scene: The “Three Apples” exhibit at Royal/T in Culver City, Calif., celebrated Hello Kitty’s 35th anniversary by aggregating all things Hello Kitty under one roof. The exhibit ran until Nov. 15 and featured art pieces and merchandise inspired by the Sanrio character. Sanrio's U.S. headquarters is in San Francisco. On Nov. 14, fans of Hello Kitty came in their best Lolita dresses to give her a royal send-off with a fashion show inspired by the red bow–wearing cartoon feline.
Participating clothing designers included Antiseptic Designs, Artifice Clothing, CANDYspooky, CrazysporkIam, Die, Ego Assassin, Fiftyseven-thirtythree, IAmChubbyBunny, Jessica Louise, Pink Macaroon, Shrinkle, Skingraft, Soulful Commandoe and Toxic Vision. Accessories were made by Boring Sidney, Bubbles and Frown, Callowlily, Cicely Margo, Sugar Mafia, Topsy Turvy Designs and Twinkie-Chan.—Rhea Cortado
